In dramatic fashion(I called it early this year) the Mets have stumbled and lost the lead on the NL East title. Four extra base hits, 22 runners left on base, and going 5 for 18 with runners in scoring position will get you nowhere against the Atlanta Braves. But that’s exactly what the Meta did. Not even call up Francisco Alvarez could muster up any offense. The Mets are headed for the wildcard round where the winner gets to play…you guessed it:
The Atlanta Braves.
