MLB, DON’T RUIN THE MOMENT: BASEBALL CANNOT AFFORD A DELAYED 2027 SEASON

Baseball has finally built momentum again. The playoff race is heating up. Fans are locked in. Teams are fighting for every game. So here’s the question MLB and the Players Association need to answer right now: Are you really willing to risk stopping all of this over another labor dispute?

Because make no mistake—you cannot screw this up.

As the 2026 season heads toward the postseason, baseball is becoming must-watch television. Teams are battling night after night just to make the playoffs. Every game matters. Every win matters. Every loss can change a team’s entire season.

This is what baseball is supposed to feel like.

Teams are fighting to stay alive. Fans are checking the standings. Players are competing with everything on the line. The postseason picture is taking shape, and the excitement around the game continues to build.

And that is exactly why MLB cannot afford to get this wrong.

The momentum is there.

The excitement is there.

The competition is there.

The fans are ready.

So, MLB and the Players Association—figure it out.

Whatever disagreements exist surrounding the new CBA, work through them. Negotiate. Compromise. Find a solution. But do not allow another labor dispute to take away from the game and the fans who support it.

There can be ZERO delays to the 2027 MLB season.

No shortened season.

No missed Opening Day.

No lockout.

No excuses.

The 2026 season is shaping up to have an incredible finish, and the playoffs could be something special. Baseball should be focused on building on this momentum—not preparing for another labor battle that could damage the sport.

The game has an opportunity right now.

Don’t ruin it.

MLB, fix it.

The MLB Players Association, fix it.

The fans should not have to pay the price for problems that can—and should—be solved at the negotiating table.

Because right now, baseball is fun.

Baseball is competitive.

Baseball is meaningful.

And as the 2026 playoff race heats up, one thing should be absolutely clear:

The last thing anyone should be talking about heading into 2027 is whether there will even be baseball.

Get the deal done. Protect the game. And let them play.

The NFL regular season has come to an end, and for many teams that didn’t make the playoffs come the decision of firing their coaching staff. The ATL Falcons and Washington Commanders have let their HC go. The Commanders had a rocky season under the helm of Ron Rivera and have decided to go in a different direction. Can this be the opportunity for 54-year-old Eric Bieniemy to land an HC job or does Eric move on?

Nonetheless, Black Monday will start an interesting week in the NFL offseason for many teams.

According to reports coming out of the @theathletic & @DarnellMayberry:

There seems be some disconnect to theChicago Bulls starters with L. Ball out on with a diagnosed”small” meniscus tear in his left knee. Caruso, LaVaine and DeRozan not working as a unified team, so the Bulls took matters into their own hands by holding a meeting to try and fix the team chemistry on the court. Let’s be very clear and careful, Zach and DeRozan are not beefing. Just trying to figure out how their games can best mesh on court so that it can translate into wins, especially with L. Ball being absent.

The NYKs Julius Randle did something similar by calling a players only meeting, and have since went 10-6, can this meeting change the fortunes of the Bulls, or is this the end and the Bulls go into another rebuilding mode? We shall see!
