Number 7 seed NY Liberty stole game 1 of the Eastern conference series against Number 2 seed and reigning champs Chicago Sky 98-91. Game 2 is in Chicago. Game time is 12pm. It’s the Liberty’s first playoff win since September 23, 2015.

Dick Vitale, the iconic announcer of college basketball announced the news on Twitter Wednesday afternoon. In April, Vitale was given the greenlight to ring the bell after seven months of treatments. He was finally given the all clear on Wednesday.

Shareef O’Neal to Sign with NBA G-League Ignite

According to a couple of sources, including “Shams of the Athletic” Shareef O’Neal son of HOF Shaquille O’Neal. Is headed down under to the G-League, Ignite.

It was reported that Shareef O’Neal signed a six-figure contract with Team Ignite to play next season. This past month Shareef O’Neal played six games for his dad’s former team, the LA Lakers Summer League Team and In

six games, O’Neal averaged 4.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 10.9 minutes per game.

While those numbers didn’t jump out at any of the NBA scouts, people do have to keep in mind, Shareef’s medical condition and how far he came.

Shareef had open heart surgery back in October to correct his congenital heart defect affecting the coronary artery. So let’s say that it’s even a blessing that Shareef O’Neal was able and strong enough to compete in the 2022 NBA Summer League. A lot of kids/adults don’t even get the opportunity to showcase their skills even though his dad advised against it.

Is there a blockbuster trade in the mix? Boston has Engaged in talks with the Brooklyn Nets where Boston offered Jaylen Brown a package for Kevin Durant. Brooklyn turned it down and wants Marcus Smart. Will Boston bite and move Jaylen, Marcus and possibly Derrick for KD. Let’s think about it, Kevin Durant goes to Boston and plays alongside Jason Tatum, Malcom Brogdon, Robert Williams III, Danilo Gallinari, Payton Pritchard. Listen, make that deal and figure out the rest during training camp and pre-season.

The Boston Celtics would be a formidable team in the eastern conference and would also be one of the favorites to win it all going into the 2022-23 NBA season.
