The Rundown

The WBC. Ohtani vs Trout. No one saw this showdown coming. But it lived up to its hype and then some. This was pure old school in its prime Heavyweight Championship Boxing. Pitching and hitting phenomenon Shohei Ohtani versus big time slugger Mike Trout. For all those who would talk of a dream match up between the two. We were now going to see it go down live for all the bragging rights.

Congrats Team Japan on your WBC win. Well deserved! Now let’s see if the upcoming 2023 MLB season can replicate this magic.

The Miami Heat set an NBA record at the free throw line going 40-40, beating OKC 112-111. Jimmy Butler went 23-23 from the line en route for 35 points. Butler iced the game with 12.9 seconds left in the 4th.

Twins?? Originally no. Giants?? No. Mets?? Let’s examine further…Carlos Correa pivots back and signs a six year $200 million deal to play with the Minnesota Twins. Make that make sense.

The Padres just moved up the food chain with their trade with the Nationals which is still being finalized this afternoon.

Padres are in 4th place in the Nationals behind the Brewers, Braves, and Mets and the first-place Dodgers are looking to move up and improve their playoff chances and they hope to get Tatis back off of the IL soon as he is looking forward to taking live pitches as soon as possible. Once Fernando returns, the Padres line would look something like this:

• Fernando Tatis Jr., SS (Bats: R)

• Juan Soto, RF (Bats: L)

• Manny Machado, 3B (Bats: R)

• Josh Bell, 1B (Bats: B)

• Luke Voit, DH, (Bats: R)

• Jurickson Profar, LF (Bats: S)

• Jake Cronenworth, 2B (Bats: L)

• Austin Nola, C (Bats: R)

• Trent Grisham, CF (Bats: L)

Excitement for MLB and the Padres @ the MLB Trade Deadline.
