Michael Vick, the former NFL quarterback and Virginia native, has been appointed as the head football coach at Norfolk State University. His hiring was officially announced on December 20, 2024, marking a significant milestone for the university’s football program.

Vick, known for his dynamic playing style during his 13-season NFL career, expressed enthusiasm about leading the Spartans and contributing to the development of student-athletes both on and off the field. NY Liberty will be playing in the 2023 WNBA Finals. Their first trip to the Finals since 2022. The Liberty win Game 4, 87-84. Liberty will play number 1 seed Las Vegas Aces on Sunday.

Close, but no cigar. The Kansas City Chiefs beat back a game Zach Wilson and the NY Jets 23-20.

Canelo Alvarez secured a unanimous 12 decision over “At least he didn’t knock me out” undisputed champion Jermell Charlo. Jermell’s performance Saturday hindered on BS.

The 2023 NFL Draft was last night and despite some speculation. The Carolina Panthers selected Alabama’s Bryce Young as their number one pick and future QB. The Houston Texans selected Ohio State’s QB CJ Stroud with their number 2 pick. A full list of the top 10 picks from last night’s Day 1 draft will be published this afternoon. Day 2 of the 2023 NFL Draft resumes today.

A win is a win. I guess. Although I would have preferred the Knicks beating the brakes out of a KD/Irving lead Nets. I’ll take what I can get. The Knickerbockers beat the Nets last night at the Garden 142-118 in their last meeting of the season. Jalen Brunson paced the Knicks with 39.

He’s back! Kevin Durant makes his Phoenix Suns debut scoring 23 points in 27 minutes to go along with 6 boards, 2 dimes, abs two blocked shots in a 105-91 win over the Charlotte Hornets.

The NFL Scouting Combine starts today going down in Indianapolis for the next few days
